Mr. McQuade represents and counsels private and public employers with respect to a wide-range of employment, civil rights and business issues. Mr. McQuade has extensive experience in defending employers, municipal entities and government officials in state and federal court and in administrative tribunals, against a variety of employment law claims, including civil rights claims, First and Fourteenth Amendment claims, race discrimination claims, disability discrimination claims, age discrimination claims, sex discrimination and harassment claims, retaliation claims, Equal Pay Act claims, wage and hour claims, whistleblower claims and all manner of tort and contract claims. Mr. McQuade regularly represents employers before the Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission in workers’ compensation retaliation matters and also represents municipalities facing heart and hypertension claims. He also represents employers in the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements and in interest and grievance arbitration. Mr. McQuade has experience in municipal ethics issues, qui tam (whistleblower) actions, civil RICO actions, commercial disputes, product liability and tort actions as well as criminal matters. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. McQuade served as the judicial law clerk to United States Magistrate Judge Joan Glazer Margolis for two years.
Mr. McQuade received his B.A. in history from Yale University in 1989. He received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1992, where he was an editor of the Connecticut Law Review, a member of Connecticut Moot Court Board, a finalist in the Alva P. Loiselle Moot Court competition, the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for the highest grade in Constitutional law, a Dean’s Fellow and the Toastmaster at graduation ceremonies.

Mr. McQuade was a featured speaker at the Connecticut Bar Association’s Public Sector Labor Relations seminar (April 1999).
